.decimal at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Saturday, October 18th, employees and friends of .decimal participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in downtown Orlando at Lake Eola Park. The walk helps raise money to fight breast cancer, while providing hope to people facing the disease. Participation supports the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) lifesaving research, prevention, early detection, and support programs for thousands of patients and their families.
.decimal employees raised money through bake sales, a snack bar and donations, contributing to the success of the Orlando area. Orlando teams raised over $300,000 this year together. Since 1993, nearly four million walkers across the country have raised more than $280 million through Making Strides events to help fight breast cancer.
.decimal also joined the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program recently. The ACS developed this program to provide transportation for patients to and from cancer related treatment appointments.
Employees at .decimal understand the importance of giving back to the community we are all a part of. “It is obvious a need exists and I am grateful for the opportunity to do my part, no matter how small,” says Ellen Donahue-Marty, a .decimal employee and ACS Road to Recovery volunteer. This program’s mission is the essence of .decimal’s mission – people helping people overcome cancer.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Making Strides walk, we are looking forward to next year!
